Wendy was great to work with, and had our property done very quickly. I would highly recommend her services.

Background

A graduate of Vermont Technical College in Randolph with a civil engineering degree, Wendy Pelletier dabbled in several fields early in her career. Her resume includes a stint as executive director of Center Stage Cheshire County in the early 2000s when the Keene Pumpkin Festival was reaching its heyday under its jurisdiction. In 2005, she gravitated back to her original field of study and got a job with David A. Mann Land Surveyor. She earned a license to go out on her own in 2009 and moved out of her home and into the Hannah Grimes incubator. In addition to the space, moral support and counseling were invaluable, she says. “When you hit those hard times, everyone sits around the table and tries to brainstorm to get you through it,” she notes. “I had a little bit of a struggle, and Hannah Grimes really helped me through all that.” Today, Pelletier’s surveyor business, Cardinal Surveying and Land Planning, is thriving in a male-dominated field that’s in need of a youth infusion. The average age of surveyors in New Hampshire is 65 or older, she says. “They’re all retiring. I knew going into Hannah Grimes there’s like 11 surveyors in Cheshire County and seven of them are at retirement age,” Pelletier says. “That’s really proven itself this year.”
